A Sports Physical Form MUST be signed & dated by a doctor and returned BEFORE your scholar will be allowed to practice or play in Intramurals.

Intramurals Points Scoring:
The Intramural team with the most accumulated points at the end of the season will be crowned GHLO Intramural Sports Champion. How teams accumulate points is below.

1 Point per team win in practice and tournament games.
5 points awarded to each sport tournament championship team.
3 points awarded to each sport tournament runner-up team.
Intramural Champion Tiebreaker #1 number of sports championships.
Intramural Champion Tiebreaker #2: number of runner-up finishes.
Intramural Champion Tiebreaker #3: overall match/game wins
Q: Where did the team names come from?
A: The four teams are named after a significant location to a 4th or 5th grade "Classic to Keep." Two teams representing 4th grade classics are Digitopolis from The Phantom Tollbooth and Sherwood Forest from The Adventures of Robin Hood. The two teams representing 5th grade classics are Narnia and Hanau (pronounced HAW-no). Narnia is from The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and Hanau, the location of the “German Fairy Tale Road,” is the setting of many of the Grimm’s Fairy Tales. Hanau is also the birthplace of the Grimm Brothers.
Q: Reason Intramural shirts aren't included in the registration price this year?
A: This year we have 4 teams and scholars will be on the same team the entire Intramurals. The jerseys are a performance style shirt instead of a cotton Intramurals shirt.

Q: Who can attend Intramurals and when?
Thursday practice days will be scholars only. The championship Saturday tournaments will be open for parents and family members to attend and cheer on our scholars. Again, Saturdays only. Saturday tournament days will be held in the GHLO gym or back field.
Use upper school parking lot.
COMING SOON: Sign-ups for the pregame “tailgate.” Pre-tournament tailgates will be held in the parking lot prior to each championship Saturday dates only.

Other things to know about Intramurals
•Intramurals is not a club and will not follow the club schedule on Thursday. Intramurals practice will end as close to 4:50 as possible. We changed the ending time to 4:50 to let regular club carline die down and give us more play time. At 4:50, we will do a quick clean-up of the equipment, grab school bags, and bring scholars out front
•Scholars CAN wear mouth guards and gloves if they choose. NO cleats will be allowed during any Intramurals practices or events.
•Each coach was given a "rotation chart" to determine playing time. The coaches and I will partner together to try and make playing time as even as possible.
•While everyone is guaranteed to play, playing time will also be determined on the attitude and sportsmanship of scholars throughout the practice days.
•Scholars will be able to wear their Intramural jerseys as “spirit shirts” but ONLY on campus wide “Spirit Day Fridays.” They are NOT permitted to wear them to school on Thursday practice days.
